Colin Tate AM is an Australian entrepreneur and philanthropist. An investment industry media publisher and conference producer since 1996, he has launched and overseen multiple print and electronic publications throughout his career. 

He is the founder and managing director of Conexus Financial, growing the company over almost 20 years to become Australia’s market-leading independent publisher specialising in financial services. Colin has developed a reputation as an outspoken commentator in the financial services industry, willing to challenge the status quo and advocate for the public interest. He is widely credited with assisting consumer advocacy campaigns in the industry, including calls to ban investment commissions and lift professional standards in financial advice and for a banking and financial services royal commission.  

Colin is the founder of, and an adviser to, The Conexus Institute, a not-for-profit think-tank established to be a catalyst for improved retirement outcomes for Australians. 

He has previously served as a board member of Neuroscience Research Australia (NeuRA), an independent, not-for-profit institute dedicated to preventing and curing disease and disability of the brain and nervous system through leadership and innovation in neuroscience research. He has been a board member and fundraising chair at Australia’s most high-profile homeless charity, The Wayside Chapel. 

In 2021, Tate was made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for significant service to the community through charitable initiatives.
