He has developed a reputation as an outspoken commentator, willing to challenge the status quo and advocate for the public interest. Colin is widely credited with assisting consumer advocacy campaigns in the industry, including calls to ban investment commissions and lift professional standards in financial advice and for a banking and financial services royal commission.

Colin is the founder of, and an adviser to, The Conexus Institute, a not-for-profit think-tank established to be a catalyst for improved retirement outcomes for Australians. He has previously served as a board member and chair of the foundation board at Neuroscience Research Australia (NeuRA), an independent, not-for-profit institute dedicated to preventing and curing disease and disability of the brain and nervous system through leadership and innovation in neuroscience research. He has been a board member and fundraising chair at Australia’s most high-profile homeless charity, The Wayside Chapel.
